I'm in the middle of dispute with a trader who sold me a 2.3 ducato from 2014 which appears to be clocked by a significant number of miles. I suspect that the engine has been swapped due to its state which is rather poor in comparison to other components under the bonnet. I have had problems during sveral trips in my 2007 Bessacarr E560 motorhome with the Fiat Ducato 2.3 multijet diesel engine stopping suddenly as if switched off. Luckily it always re-started OK but very dangerous as the power steering and brakes disappear!I spent a lot of time and money trying to find and repair the problem but nothing worked. My 2004 2.8 JTD Ducato belt was changed each 60k miles and last time it cost me just under £300 (2018) incl water pump and tensioners, by a local indie. I now have a 3.0 160 multijet with chain but remember when the chain on my Mitsubishi 2.8 Pajero snapped and effectively wrote the car off so chains are less hassle regarding maintenance but
